Bengal Govt elevates IPS Ajay Mukund Ranade to DGP (Law and Order)
The recovery of the bodies of a young couple, Mohammad Dilshad and Mehuli Sanyal, from a flat in Kolkata’s Golf Green has unraveled a disturbing lifestyle of narcotics and illicit activities. Initial investigations and autopsy reports suggest that both individuals died due to excessive drug intoxication during a "house party" that lasted through Friday night. Forensic experts, who visited the site on Monday, have collected samples to determine the exact nature of the substances consumed. Preliminary findings indicate that Mehuli died first—sustaining a head injury from a fall—followed by Dilshad.
The police have arrested three individuals in connection with the case: Mushtaq Ali Mollah (alias Rohit), Anjali Bangiro, and Chandan Paswan. Following a complaint of murder filed by Mehuli’s mother, the investigation revealed that Dilshad had rented the Golf Green flat specifically to organize high-priced "house party packages." These sessions reportedly involved groups of young men and women who would stay for days, engaging in heavy substance abuse and alcohol consumption in exchange for large sums of money paid to Dilshad.
Beyond the drug abuse, a more sensational aspect of the case has emerged regarding the production of obscene content. Investigative leads suggest that the flat was used as a backdrop for shooting sexually provocative reels and pornographic videos. The police are currently scrutinizing mobile devices and digital footprints to confirm the extent of this racket. It appears that the deceased woman, Mehuli, had been living a nomadic lifestyle with multiple partners since 2023 and had become a regular fixture in the rave party circuit of South Kolkata, where she met the other accused.
As the New Market and local police deepen their probe, they are looking for other frequent visitors who attended these secretive gatherings. The arrests of Mushtaq, a resident of Haridevpur, and Anjali, a college student from Jharkhand, highlight a cross-state network of youths involved in this lifestyle. Authorities are now focusing on the financial trail of the "packages" charged for these parties and whether a larger organized syndicate is behind the supply of lethal drugs to these private flats.
